Sgraffitto derives from the Italian word sgraffare meaning 'to scratch' and that's exactly what this wonderful decorative technique involves! After applying a colour of your choice to a white leather hard plate, you will scratch through to reveal the clay underneath. The contrast in colour and play with negative space allows for beautiful patterns to be created. No prior experience in clay is needed. Techniques: Sgraffito Small intimate class of 6 to give plenty of 1-1 tuition. I will finish your work with a transparent glaze to seal the plates and bring out the vibrancy of the colours. Work will be ready to collect from the studio within 4 weeks. Price includes clay plate, slip, glaze and kiln firings. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided during the workshop.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations: Please understand I am a small business and cannot offer refunds for cancellations. I will try and find you a space on another workshop instead where possible. If there is someone who can fill your space from the waiting list then I can provide a refund minus the transaction fee I was charged when you paid (2.1%-3.5% depending on payment method). If you paid via BACS I can offer a full refund. Waiting list: If a class is full please email me to be added to the waiting list. I will contact the waiting list if a space becomes available on the workshop. This will be offered on a first come first serve basis. If I have a full waiting list (and extra childcare!) I will look at running an extra class.
