Thurs Evening Class, Autumn: Block 2
Mixed ability 7 week course, 7-9pm
Class content
These weekly sessions allow you to work on your own projects; developing handbuilding, decorating and glazing skills. I will work with you to decide on a personal making plan and offer hands on help and guidance to take your idea, whatever it may be, from clay to finished fired piece. I've never said no to a project idea yet -apart from a toilet one time! The classes have a mixed range of abilities and are a friendly and supportive environment, creating great friendships as well as fab pots! Price includes all clay, glaze and kiln firings (within reason!) We work in stoneware using Earthstone 5 clay and stoneware glazes. You can help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the session - vitally important for creativity! If you've not worked with clay before, or you're not sure it's for you yet, please try one of my Taster Sessions before signing up to these weekly classes. Have a look at the workshop page for available sessions. DON'T FORGET!: Your glasses if you wear them & trim nails before class, as you’ll find it easier to work with the clay. SESSIONS Thurs 23rd Oct: Planning your project and start making Thurs 30th Oct: Making Thurs 6th Nov: Making WEEK OFF (Family holiday- sorry!) Thurs 20th Nov: Making Thurs 27th Nov: Finish work and move to drying shelves Thurs 4th Dec: Glaze mixing and tests. Thurs 11th Dec: Evaluate test tile results and glaze final piece(s) Work will be fired and ready to collect the week following our final session. If you are signing up to classes after the Christmas break you do not have to follow the schedule above and can extend your project into the next block.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations: Please understand I am a small business and cannot offer refunds for cancellations. I will try and find you a space on another workshop instead where possible. If there is someone who can fill your space from the waiting list then I can provide a refund minus the transaction fee I was charged when you paid (2.1%-3.5% depending on payment method). If you paid via BACS I can offer a full refund. Waiting list: If a class is full please email me to be added to the waiting list. I will contact the waiting list if a space becomes available on the workshop. This will be offered on a first come first serve basis. If I have a full waiting list (and extra childcare!) I will look at running an extra class.
