Under the Microscope: Porcelain Studies

Dive deep into my favourite combination; porcelain, textures and microscopic imagery. There will be plenty of images for you to pour over plus my digital microscope set up, so if you have something at home you'd like to zoom in on, please bring it along. Using these images as a starting point, we will take an experimental approach with mark making, modelling, carving and slip decoration, spending the day creating a little library of exquisite porcelain studies. Either frame at home (I will show you how I mount my specimen pieces) or you can choose a specimen box frame from the framers here during the workshop and they will mount your pieces for you. Price of frame dependent on finish. Framed work will be ready to collect within 4 weeks, unframed work will be sooner. No prior experience in clay is needed. Small intimate class of 6 to give plenty of 1-1 tuition. Price includes porcelain and kiln firings, framing will be extra. A home cooked lunch is provided, and you can help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the session (vitally important for creativity!). Please provide any dietary requirements when booking. NB. If you wear glasses please don't forget them as we will be doing detailed work!
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations: Please understand I am a small business and cannot offer refunds for cancellations. I will try and find you a space on another workshop instead where possible. If there is someone who can fill your space from the waiting list then I can provide a refund minus the transaction fee I was charged when you paid (2.1%-3.5% depending on payment method). If you paid via BACS I can offer a full refund. Waiting list: If a class is full please email me to be added to the waiting list. I will contact the waiting list if a space becomes available on the workshop. This will be offered on a first come first serve basis. If I have a full waiting list (and extra childcare!) I will look at running an extra class.
